When working with colours, nothing must be left to chance.
However, new ideas often arise from fortuitous happenings, accidents during processing and crossovers
with appealing new trends. This is the spirit behind garment dyeing, which is our speciality.
INTEX was launched 30 years ago by great colour enthusiasts. It has grown from a small craft firm to a key player
in the fashion district, thanks to its combination of distinctive technical dyeing capabilities and
its advanced approach to industrial process organization.
Our laboratory is equipped with highly sophisticated technology to support our production and research efforts.
We strive to ensure that our working processes are healthy and our working environments are safe,
because we want to become a flagship for eco-sustainability in the industrial dyeing sector.
Thanks to the huge experience and technical awareness that we have built up over the years,
as well as bringing to life designers’ ideas in our laboratory, we can also inspire them by suggesting innovative dyeing solutions and cutting-edge
finishing techniques. We have introduced ground-breaking laboratory technologies and adopted a “right the first time” philosophy by automating
every single stage in the dyeing process. Each procedure (such as weighing the powder, preparing and
measuring the solution, preparing the dye bath and sample dyeing) is carried out by machines and monitored by computers.
Our technology allows us to ensure that our formulas can be reproduced, trace all of the dyeing processes carried
out over time, eliminate human error and increase the quality of the final products.
Season after season, INTEX has shown the ability to be proactive and transform style concepts
into customized dyeing processes for individual brands.
We have honed completely original and innovative dyeing techniques that have made us famous in the fashion world.
Our first success was our old process, which is renowned because of the outstanding final finishes and
the unparalleled softness of the fabrics.
We can offer cold dyes, mineral dyes and vegetable dyes.
We have come up with original processes to produce distinctive, innovative effects.
A dyeing process with pigments, giving a final effect with darker depths and an overall faded look for the garment. It is highly recommended for summer collections of all types of clothes, from outerwear to knitwear.
Effect: total used colour.
A cold pigment dyeing process in which cotton
is bleached bright white in preparation so that pastel tones can be
Effect: surface colours that contrast with white.
A process based on INTEX research that allows an old effect to be created on any material. It is renowned for the unique depth of the colour and above all for the softness of the fabric.
Effect: deep colour and fabric that is soft to the touch.
Pastel-based colours and tone-on-tone worn hues. Very light, with exceptional nuances of growing intensity
Effect: a hazy tone-on-tone look.
A super old look with 3D ergonomics: the basic old process is boosted with whitening effects on the relief sections.
Effect: an ultra-soft finish with fabric that is velvety to the touch.
A new process involving singular dyes that create a colour build-up on the thicker parts on the garment and little penetration on the stitching. It is possible to choose between chemical used effects for colour removal or natural used effects to give garments
a “vintage” look. Effect: used.
Bleaching with totally worn effects: coloured dyes + bleaching for
the summer; coloured dyes + bleaching + overdyes with dual-colour effects for the winter.
Effect: bleached and totally worn.
A well-established INTEX process: cold dyeing for the winter with direct double dyes and evolution for dual-colour dark looks. Light colours with surface dye effects are used for the summer.
Effect: dual-colour darkness for the winter, surface dyes for
Old storm dye effects + natural used procedures for ageing. The following are available for the vintage category: patches, darning, rips, tears and stitching on the ready-to-wear garments, as well as laser effects all over or on restricted areas.
Effect: old storm and used.
Resin resist-dyeing for the face or reverse, with completely fresh and innovative effects. Used for the summer with transparent resin and resist-dyeing products and for the winter with coloured resin, with depth effects featuring nuances or dual-colour effects.
Effect: nuanced or dual-colour depth effects.
INTEX is committed to the By Your Side scheme, which is based on synergy, customized research,
continual improvement and ongoing training. The By Your Side trademark is a symbol of quality and safety that has been created to highlight
the values of products and companies that take tangible steps to control the quality and safety of materials. INTEX displays the By Your Side
trademark on its products because it subjects its procedures to strict laboratory testing
to guarantee their quality and safety.
The quality checks are based on the nature of the products.
They may involve examination of the physical characteristics (dynamometric resistance to tensile stress and tearing, and
resistance to abrasion and pilling) and tests of the colour fastness (during exposure to washing, perspiration, rubbing and light), thus guaranteeing
In addition to the quality checks, the procedures are also assessed in Ritex laboratories to ensure
that they meet the CHEMICAL SAFETY requirements of the legislation in force locally (REACH) and in the destination markets
(GB18401, Egyptian Decrees 626 and 660/2011, KC mark and Japanese Law 112).
The research area is INTEX’s crowning glory. In the last decade, it has created numerous innovative dyeing procedures
and original finishing processes.
Thanks to our investment in Research & Development, we can work alongside designers and offer new forms
of chromatic expression for the latest fashions.
We can transform classic dye effects with the addition of special resins.
This has led to the creation of the following processes:
· LINUX: a process with resist-dyeing effects and bleaching on thicker sections.
· SURFACE: a process that allows two contrasting colour tones to be used.
· B-NAPOLI: a process with dual-colour effects that involves the use of two completely different types of dyes.
The research is continuing into original new BATIK, WORN and EVO SPRAYED
effects, while the use of lasers and new technical equipment is opening up promising horizons, especially in terms
of the environmental friendliness of the production processes.

The companies in Romania
When INTEX chose to open companies in other countries, it was not part of the big outsourcing wave.
We went abroad to offer additional services to customers that had opted to move all or part of their production set-up to Romania, but we always
fully intended to keep our Veneto-based company in operation and for it to continue to prosper. It was a successful venture: INTERCOLOR SA
was founded in Timisoara (Romania) in 1999 and it was able to take advantage of all of its parent company’s denim processing know-how.
Following substantial investment, the new INTERCOLOR headquarters were opened in 2004, opening up countless possibilities for cotton and wool
ready-to-wear garment dyeing and fabric finishing. Consequently, our customers can now take samples developed in Italy and reproduce them in Romania,
fully transferring our formulas. In 2014, INTERNORD LAUNDRY SA was launched to serve the North of Romania. Within a short time, it aimed to replicate
the organization of the production process and the type of services offered by INTERCOLOR.
Production capacity in Romania:
7,000 kg a day cotton dyeing · 5,000 kg a day wool dyeing · 8,000 garments a day Super-washed denim
